Group Therapy

Sometimes it helps to hear from other parents who are dealing with similar challenges. I host periodic small-group therapy meetings based on common parenting struggles. As a Registered Associate MFT #152407,

I am supervised by Tarrah Wauson, LMFT at Insights Creative Therapy.

Peaceful Parenting support group

Are you feeling run-down from all the conflict at home? Is your child so stubborn or aggressive that it seems like they’re the one running the show? Are you thinking you might not actually be cut out for this parenting job? Maybe it’s time to try something new. A more peaceful path awaits you with the tools of Nonviolent Resistance (NVR), a transformative approach to parenting that fosters connection, confidence, and renewed joy in family life.

Our NVR parenting group is designed to help parents and caregivers build trust, heal relationships, and create a calm, loving family environment. Participants regain a sense of control and learn new strategies to promote child development, manage misbehavior, and plan for high-risk situations.

Next group begins April 14, 2025

Meets in person for 8 Mondays, 5:30-7PM

April 14 through June 2 @ 3929 24th Street, San Francisco

*Based on group consensus, we may reschedule the May 26* session due to holiday

What you will gain in 8 weekly sessions:

1: Parental Presence

Increase your physical and emotional presence with your child to create a bond that stretches and never breaks.

2: Self Care & Support

Find simple, practical ways to look after yourself and strengthen supports. Our ability to stay calm is key to supporting our kids.

3: De-Escalation

Take positive control of a situation instead of reacting to it. We’ll examine our own reaction patterns and learn to pause and rethink.

4: Listen with Curiosity

Communication is strengthened when we show up with more curiosity and less judgment. Attentive listening builds connection.

5: Natural Consequence

Instead of punishment, NVR uses natural consequences to instill good judgment and reduce power struggles.

6: Reconciliation

Help build or rebuild relationship bonds with your child by using reconciliation gestures that are not conditional.

7: Non-Negotiables

Prioritize the behaviors that need to change. If you’re seeing violence in your child, this is a classic non-negotiable. Address others in time.

8: Putting it all Together

Consider how and when to best utilize the skills we learned in this group. Gain resources for ongoing support and growth.

Program Fee: $750 per family (1-2 caregivers)
